The Northern Australia Food Futures Conference is Australia’s leading event on agricultural development in the “North” – an area covering 53% of Australia’s land mass, but housing just 5% of the national population. In this podcast series, we sit down with a range to guests to explore the 2023 conference theme, “Northern Myths, Realities and Opportunities” and provide a preview of the discussions that will take place at the event which attracts over 600 national and international delegates. Paul McLaughlin grows watermelons and peanuts near Ali Curung, south of Tennant Creek. He has extensive experience in developing irrigation properties and growing a range of crops from cotton to horticulture. Paul is Chairman of Melons Australia and is on the Strategic Investment Panel with Hort Innovation, and the board of NT Farmers Association.
